If The Shoe Fits and the Art of Keeping it Simple

20101008_sd_5199-edit
Scott Drickey was asked to shoot a still life concept to illustrate Robin Donovan's new book, "Is It Murder Even if She was a Bitch"?

Scott's process notes for this assignment:

Robin Donovan Notes

She has a massive inferiority complex trying to make up for a child hood lack of self-esteem.

Narcissistic, selfish, lacks confidence overcompensates by being outspoken, probably recites what she just heard from someone else.

What inadequacy caused her to believe she’s smarter than everyone else?

How was she murdered? Where was she? Was she with someone else? Who-co-worker? husband

TREATMENTS

Contrast clean environmental personal space.

Large sweeping perspective on street evokes feeling of random person amongst many in world.

Well-manicured uber style , handbag, interior room furniture but shoes are element out of place. What are those shoes doing there?

Line up of well designed shoes inside yoga studio with hers that are apparently out of place in pool of blood.

Murder scene graphic novel feel blood, hair, accessories-gaudy design on sterile clean or rough urban

More about the product:
"Through sheer magic, this product offers function, fashion and freedom. With a twist, it is magically converted by folding into or out of itself in seconds to reveal either a scarf-like bandolier purse worn across the body, or converted into a handbag to clutch. This year’s premier line will boast all the latest trends in color, pattern and fabric.
One size fits all."

Theresa McDermott has the home court advantage.

She's a baller, mother of three, and wife of Creighton's Head Coach, Greg McDermott. I had an oppoutunity to capture Theresa's ability to juggle it all. I'm looking forward to catching the Jays continue their home winning streak against Houston Baptist tonight with Beth and the kids-So thanks for that!

Form Follows Friends

While scouting this week, I ran into two of the most capable people I know, Lindsey Andersen and Doug Kiser. Both have recently collaborated on a new Energy Smart Home, which I look forward to including in my pholio.

So'd O pride world wide my man, Jay Rybin-I dig the mural on Vinton St.!-Scott
